Worship Ministry

The Worship Ministry of Northside Baptist exists to provide our people with avenues of service to bring glory to the Lord through music, drama and other creative arts.

Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. - Psalm 95:1

In John 4, Jesus tells us that the Father is looking for people who will worship Him in spirit and in truth. We worship in truth by worshiping the one true God as He has demonstrated Himself in Scripture. We worship in spirit by praising the One who has saved our souls, and we cannot help but offer our lives in thanks and appreciation for who He is and what He has done.

Worship at Northside will not be defined by styles of music. God is the author and audience of our worship. We will worship Him using ancient hymn texts and contemporary songs as well. Worship should never be defined by what we want it to be. Rather, it should be defined by what God wants it to be. Therefore, the worship at Northside strives to be God-honoring (Romans 12:1-2) and Christ-exalting (Revelation 5:12). Worship will be celebrative and reflective. It will be introspective and responsive.

Worship is not defined by what happens on Sunday morning or Sunday night. Worship begins in the heart of every believer as they live their lives as a sacrifice to the One who gives them life. Whatever you do, in word or in deed, do it all in the name of the Lord.
