Senior Adult Ministry

. . . I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. - John 10:10b

About Senior Adult Ministry

The abundant life in Christ defines how many Northside senior adults are living their lives. The Senior Adult Ministry, open to all those who are 55 and older, seeks to honor God by providing opportunities for senior adults to grow spiritually, fellowship with one another and reach lost and un-churched senior adults in the community. Through Bible studies, outreach opportunities and involvement in various ministries, this growing ministry also encourages senior adults not to "retire" in their service to Christ. Come be a part of this vibrant and active ministry.

Service Opportunities

Senior Adult Council

This leadership council is composed of various senior adults who are active within the senior adult ministry as well as other ministries of Northside. The council meets every other month to evaluate the Senior Adult Ministry, plan upcoming events and pray for the ministry and those involved.  Members of the Senior Adult council include:

A Biblical View of Aging

Aging is a normal part of life

"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven: a time to be born and a time to die" (Ecclesiastes 3:1-2a).

Senior adults deserve respect

"'Honor your father and mother - which is the first commandment with a promise -that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth'" (Ephesians 6:2-3).

Aging brings experience

"Is not wisdom found among the aged? Does not long life bring understanding?" (Job 12:12).

Senior adults should be mentors

"Remember the days of old; consider the generations long past. Ask your father and he will tell you, your elders, and they will explain to you" (Deuteronomy 32:7).

God uses everyone

"In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams" (Acts 2:17).
